In April 2007 Brent built our house of approximately 350sqm. Brent managed the whole project which flowed very well through the whole process to completion, on time and of a very high standard. Brent and his team of workers were excellent too work with. They travelled from Link water to Nelson and back daily and considering the driving distance they were still able to put in a full day’s work. I would recommend Brent to build and building required. We engaged Brent to build boundary fence at our Anakiwa property. As well as the building work itself, it also involved arranging subcontractors and had some difficult elements to it. It also ‘grew’ to include other things we wanted to have down. Nothing was ever a problem for Brent. He has a cheerful and easy-going disposition that belies a keen eye for detail and excellent quality workmanship. Brent never hesitated to suggest a better way of doing something if he saw one and we really appreciated that. He always discussed ahead how he was going to approach a task to ensure we were all in agreement. It was an absolute pleasure having him and his team working on site and he was always sensitive to leaving the area tidy and ensuring we weren’t inconvenienced. We had Brent undergo renovations to our house on Queen Charlotte Drive in the Marlborough Sounds. He added a third bathroom, deck and store room to our house and overseen the laying of our driveway, he also completed cupboards, pelments and flashings. The steps to our deck at the front were also done but after seeing them and how well they had been built we had little choice but to have Brent remove the back steps and build new ones with a platform. We were extremely pleased with his concern to detail ensuring a quality finish and consulting with us with options and possibilities. I had the opportunity to observe Brent working with his apprentices and as a teacher I could see his skill at encouraging, explaining and showing them how to complete tasks. Brent has worked for us on a number of projects over the years, the latest of which involved a three level house in a remote area constructed from a great number of precast concrete components and thirty trucks loaded with concrete. Brent’s attention to detail, skill and accuracy in setting out allowed the completion of this very challenging construction to a high standard without any unnecessary problems. He is very focused on the quality of workmanship and also the strength and bracing of any project he works on to do with concrete. Brent is very easy to communicate with and brings a friendly and humorous atmosphere to a building site and has helped make our projects both pleasant and memorable.
